Gilmore Associates was formed in 1998 to pursue the acquisition and development of historic buildings in Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. Chief Executive of Gilmore Associates, Tom Gilmore was born in New York in 1953. Trained in architecture and design, Gilmore has acquired and rehabilitated under-utilized historic properties in Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood since the early 1990’s. He is generally cited as the first developer to successfully utilize the adaptive re-use ordinance in Downtown Los Angeles. Currently Gilmore Associates, continues to pursue opportunities that pair historic properties with adaptive re-use and infill development.
